01 empty lionsOn 9 December 2010, foundation "Center for Women's Studies and Policies" in partnership with the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria organize national round-table meeting on "Reintegration of women, victims of human trafficking – legal and social aspects" which will be held in hotel "Trakia" (Best Western Premier Thracia) at 30 Solunska Street. The meeting will be opened by Mr. Krasimir Popov, Deputy-Minister at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Mrs. Antoaneta Vassileva, Secretary of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.

The national round-table meeting is organized with regards to the celebration of the annual international 16-day-long campaign against violence against women and in relation to the finalization of a two-year-long project ROOTS (Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece), financed under "Criminal Justice" Programme, Directorate General for Internal Affairs of the European Commission.

At the meeting there will be presentation of the final report of the project which summarizes the legal framework, the programs for protection and assistance of the victims and the methods for intervention aiming at their social reintegration and inclusion into the labor markets of the partner-countries.

The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity of experts, NGOs and institutions working on these issues to discuss the practical steps and the challenges in the process of protection, assistance and reintegration of the victims of trafficking, especially after the accession of Bulgaria to the EU.
