01 empty lionsOn October 18, 2011, in Bucharest, Romania, an international conference was held on the occasion of October 18 - European Day against Human Trafficking.

The conference was attended by partner countries working on project to reduce the number of victims of trafficking for labor exploitation in countries of origin, transit and destination - Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Cyprus and Hungary.

Representatives of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings spoke about the aspects of the fifth, consecutive, national campaign on the occasion of October 18 - European Day against Human Trafficking, which was launched earlier this month and will continue until December 10 - World Day of human rights. This year the focus of the campaign is on the potential of visual arts as a manner of communication on the problems related to human trafficking.

Other participants spoke about the legislation, prevention, identification and reintegration of victims of trafficking in the member partners.

At the end of the conference, was presented the film "Loverboy" by the Romanian director Chatalin Mitulesku concerning the issue of trafficking in women for sexual exploitation.
